Abstract

Countries that have ratified the Kyoto Protocol have pledged that they will terminate global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The major cause of global warming comes from the fact that nearly all of mankind's energy needs is provided from fossil-based energy sources. The aim to reduce the grennhouse gas emissions can not be carried out unless fossil fuel energy use is reduced. In this study one of the policy options that can be taken against global warming,that is carbon tax, will be discussed.
