ABSTRACT

By the Kale-i Sultaniye agreement, which was signed by the Ottoman Empire and Britain in 5 January 1809, Sublime Porte began to colloborate with the Britain, while she was putting political distance between her and France. However, this radical change didn’t occure instantly, on the contrary it was the result of secret talks which were held in 1807, by the new allies. In This study, the negotiations which were mentioned above, will be examine and the backround of the changes in the foreign policy of the Sublime Porte, after the Kale-i Sultaniye agreement will be tried to be reflected.
