ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to introduce the second movement of L. van Beethoven‘s 5th Symphony to the cellists who wish to be members of the symphonic orchestras. After evaluating orchestral audition lists in Europe, Turkey and U.S.A. this piece was found to be the most frequently asked excerpt. This study will provide guidance on how to practice this particular movement which is frequently included in excerpts lists for symphonic orchestra auditions.
